labs are very affectionate dogs, both with people and other pets. like golden retrievers, they were bred for swimming and absolutely love water. they are very high energy and love to play! they are very eager to please and easy to train, making them common guide dogs or service dogs. labs require lots of physical and mental exercise. they have a special gene that makes them unable to feel "full", so they are VERY food-motivated and prone to obesity.
